    How to Save

If you are having a hard time saving, check out these three money-saving tips:

    1. Create a Budget—If you have never created a budget, it may prove to be difficult to begin saving. Start by sitting down and making a budget. It can be as simple as “Groceries/Food,” “Bills,” “Entertainment” and “Savings.” Keep in mind that if you do not have a specific line item for “savings” it may make it more difficult to remember to save, which is ultimately your goal.
    2. Make paying yourself a priority—Pay yourself first by setting up automatic transfers from your CB&S Bank checking account to your CB&S Bank savings account… Chances are, if you have your savings goal automatically deposited into your savings account, you will not even miss it.
    3. Save any windfalls—An easy way to save is to save any unexpected money that comes your way. Windfalls can be anything from raises/bonuses from work; tax refunds; or birthday, graduation and wedding gifts. Since this is money that you were not expecting in the first place, save it, and you will not miss it.
